7 DAYS TILL LA

Holy cow the MTC flies by so fast! I feel like I just got here and I'm already starting to get ready to leave! They had me and my companion get haircuts today and we got our travel plans. I leave next Tuesday at 3:30 in the morning! The MTC has been awesome and I'm definently going to miss it! It's been so great to be able to feel the spirit so strong every day.

Tonight we got to go to a devotional where President Waddell talked about the power of the Book of Mormon and how we should use it more to help investigators. The spirit was so strong and I know I'm going to miss these devotionals a lot!

Another thing that's been great about the MTC has been the food! For example, tonight we had salmon, roast beef, shredded steak, pudding, strawberry shortcake, and peanutbutter pie! They've fed me well while I've been here for sure.

This past week has been great! I've been able to teach investigators that came to the MTC wanting to learn more about we believe and that has been an incredible experience! It's the best feeling ever to help people get more happiness and comfort in their lives! That's what makes serving a mission so great. One of my favorite scriptures that I came across this week was in  2 Nephi 26:24
"He doeth not anything save it be for the benefit of the world; for he loveth the world, even that he layeth down his own life that he may draw all men unto him. Wherefore, he commandeth none that they shall not partake of his salvation."
I am so grateful for our savior Jesus Christ and I couldn't be happier to be serving and representing him on a mission!

BROTHER FERRELL?

Hello everyone!!

Week one at the MTC finished and only two more to go! The MTC has been amazing so far! The spirit is so strong here and I'm learning and strengthening my testimony so much every day. I can't believe how amazing sharing the gospel is. After every lesson me and my companion teach, I walk away feeling extremely happy. I know that us missionaries are supposed to be blessing the lives of our investigators, but I doubt they know how much they are blessing our lives and mine specifically. The Gospel is great!

Ok so we had a crazy experience this week! As you probably know the MTC is giving tours to show the new buildings to everyone and I ran into a totally unexpected visitor! Will Ferrell!! I never would have guessed that he would come do a tour at the MTC. I had to take a picture with him it was crazy!

Just kidding! That's not Will Ferrell that's my companion! He is awesome! But literally all day everyday people come up to us and ask him if he knows that he looks like Will Ferrell. It's the funniest thing ever! People call us Will Ferrel and Kevin Hart because he is 6'5" and I'm 5'4." Its the best. His name is actually Elder Walker and he's from West Jordan, Utah and he is going to the Los Angeles California mission as well. And crazy enough his sister went to the exact same mission! She got back two and a half months ago just in time for Elder Walker to open his call to her mission. Crazy!

As I've gone through this week I've really loved learning of Christ and focusing on my purpose of helping others come unto Him. I really love this scripture in Matthew 11 verses 28-30 and it says:

"Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light."
